- Kathy Marcks Hardesty
- The food and wine columnist for New Times of San Luis Obispo, Kathy Marcks Hardesty has written about the Central Coast wine and culinary scene since 1996. An alumnus of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, class of 1988, she worked for Chef Wolfgang Puck at Postrio in San Francisco. With 12 years experience in fine dining behind her left for an opportunity to become Wine Tasting Coordinator for Wine Spectator magazine in 1989. She relocated to the Central Coast in 1996. Her work has appeared in Wine Spectator, USA Weekend, Wines & Vines, Wine Business Monthly, Appellation and Wine Country Living Magazine. A Bay Area native Kathy lives with her husband Dan Hardesty, whose photographs usually accompany her stories, in Pismo Beach.
